HISTORY
Prime Defence roots go back to 1985 when a group of former elite British and French military personnel identified a requirement for a rapid response to flash points around the World and particularly in the Middle East and Africa. Drawing resources from special forces such as 22nd SAS Regiment, the Paras and the French Foreign Legion this group steadily built a reputation for absolute trust and reliability.

Serving in the Balkans (Bosnia), the former Soviet Union (Georgia), Africa (including Angola, Sierra Leone and Kenya), Iraq, Kuwait, Oman, Malaysia, and for the UHCR, US State Department, UN, World Bank, various NGO's, governments and organisations; the group with a combined experience of more than 150 years became a highly sought after commodity in itself.

Expanding its sphere of operations during the 1990's, the group diversified into VIP bodyguard and protection services, fisheries protection and other highly specialised security areas. A growing need since 2004 for a more highly tuned approach, cutting edge technical, intelligence, diplomatic and corporate support resources brought about by the ever increasing and constant dynamic demands of its clients has led to the natural evolvement of Prime Defence.

In 2007 the group linked with leading British strategy and projects development consultancy CWC Gulf International to form Prime Defence. Prime Defence International Ltd is a British registered company having a fully paid and issued share capital of £5 million (US$10 million).

Today Prime Defence is fast becoming a leading name in the international security World as few other companies can match the combined knowledge, diversified skills, network, capability and resources that Prime Defence can bring to bear on behalf of its clients.

ABOUT THE SAS
The Special Air Service Regiment (SAS) is the principal special forces unit of the British Army. While a small and secretive institution, it sometimes attracts a disproportionate amount of media coverage.

The SAS forms the core of the United Kingdom Special Forces, alongside the Special Boat Service (SBS), the Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR), and the Special Forces Support Group (SFSG). The SAS, ranked by many as one of the best special forces units in the world, today serves as a model for similar units fielded by other countries.

Selection is reputed to be the most demanding military training course in the British Army with a reported pass rate of less than 10%.
