Personal
Load Carrying Equipment and Body Armour
Prime Defence use Personal Load Carrying Equipment (PLCE),
a tough, modular system of camouflaged belt, yoke and
pouches. Where additional ballistic protection is required,
we use Enhanced Body Armour, which can be further reinforced
with ceramic armour plates.
Light Body Armour
Covert Vests Lightweight Bullet/Stab-Proof Vest –
Threat Level II - used for close protection duties by
our bodyguards where deemed necessary.
Personal Role Radio

The Personal Role Radio (PRR) is a small transmitter-receiver
that allows our military personnel to communicate over
short distances - even through thick cover or the walls
of buildings - without shouting, hand signals or relaying
messages. PRR enables section commanders to react quickly,
aggressively and efficiently to rapidly changing situations
including contact with hostiles. This greatly increases
the effectiveness of fire teams.
GSM Bugs & Spy Phones
We use the latest state of the art technology spy phones/
GSM Bugs. These allow the user to listen in to both
room and/ or telephone conversations from anywhere in
the world using the GSM cellular network. Not only do
these units offer unlimited range but they are also
very difficult to detect as any counter-surveillance
procedures would find it very difficult to isolate one
signal from the many thousands of others that are likely
to be present.
Personal Clothing and Equipment
The Combat 95 clothing system has to satisfy stringent
military requirements covering infra-red reflection,
thermal signature and flame resistance. It is based
on the layer principle and is designed to provide exactly
the right degree of protection for any operational environment
including extreme climatic conditions.
Armoured Vehicles
We use a number of different types of vehicles dependant
upon the location, assignment and requirement including;
stretched Mercedes 560SEL Limousine, armoured Landrover
Defender 110, Range Rover's, BMW's, Land Cruiser's,
Jankel vehicles and Hummers.
Sniper Rifle

Designed
to achieve first-round hit at 600m and harassing fire
out to 1100m, the superb Accuracy International L96
sniper rifle as used by the British Army has been upgraded
with a new x3-x12 x 50 sight and spotting scope. Also
available is the L115A1 long range Rifle (LRR), which
fires an 8.59mm bullet, heavier than the 7.62mm round
of the L96 and less likely to be deflected over extremely
long ranges.

automatic weapons in action as used by our personnel
and also some of the heavier equipment available to
us including aircraft. Watch the Prime Defence rapid
response hostage team in action. See the Warrior family
of tracked armoured vehicles, developed by Alvis Vickers
Ltd (now BAE Systems Land Systems) and which have been
proven in action with the British Army in Middle East
operations during Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom
and on UN duties in Bosnia. See the Apache and Chinook
helicopters, the 105 light gun and many of the light
arms regularly carried and used by Prime Defence personnel.
Intelligence, Surveillance, Target and Reconnaisance
(ISTAR)
Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance
(ISTAR) equipment includes image-intensifying goggles,
lightweight thermal imagers and laser target markers.
Thermal imaging (TI) turns heat into light – allowing
the user to see through darkness, rain or undergrowth.
Body heat makes people appear bright: vehicles are visible
by the heat from their engines – or even from
warm tyres. LION is a lightweight thermal imager used
at platoon level to detect targets at medium range,
while Sophie is a long-range system usually deployed
at company level. TADS is a thermal imaging sight which
can be fitted to the long-range L96 Sniper Rifle used
by sniper teams. Larger and more powerful thermal imagers
are Spyglass and OTIS, which is used by the British
Army and is normally mounted on the Warrior Observation
Post Vehicle.
IT and Computer Forensics
Prime Defence work with GSS Guidance Encase forensic
software and which is used by all the leading police
and intelligence services around the World.
Satellite Communications (SATCOM)
Compact transportable and man-pack satellite ground
stations, to provide communications links for headquarters
or small groups located in remote parts,
Counter Surveillance
Whether in our personal or our business lives everyone
is at risk of having their privacy jeopardised. Today,
more than ever, equipment is available that makes it
simple to listen in to conversations and telephone calls
– after all we should know! Many of our clients
look for equipment to ensure that those who want to
invade our privacy are prevented from doing so. We use
a range of devices which for security reasons we shall
not describe here.
Clansman
Clansman is the in-service family of tactical radios
which the British Army currently uses to provide communications
from formation headquarters forward to the fighting
units.
Checkpoint Security Technology
Metal Detectors, Under Vehicle Search Cameras and Road
Blockers are essential tools against would be car bombers
and insurgents. Checkpoint Security Technology specialises
in commercial and military checkpoint high-security
walk-through metal detectors, under-vehicle search cameras,
road blockers and GPS jammers.
Hand held Metal Detectors
The high-performance multi-function hand-held metal
detector ProWand is used in accompaniment with the walk-through
metal detector to locate prohibited metals accurately.
It has an external recharge jack to recharge the battery
and a vibration function for silent operation. The presence
of metal will be indicated by an audio warning tone
and a red light coming on.
The sensitivity of the ProWand hand-held metal detector
is adjustable: a penknife will be detected at 4in on
low sensitivity and 6in on optimum sensitivity. Its
low-consumption design saves on battery power.
Under Vehicle search Cameras
With sharp view LCD display and moveable camera parts
the VehiCheck lightweight under-vehicle search camera
is a highly efficient checkpoint security product for
inspecting the undercarriage of vehicles. The system
was created to provide a method to quickly and easily
visualise the entire underside of a vehicle.
Covert Cameras
We use a number of these to set up and monitor people,
places and vehicles during undercover operations.
