Prime Defence International
Surveillance & Undercover Operations

Although the word surveillance in French literally means "watching over", the term is often used for all forms of observation or monitoring and not just visual observation. Prime Defence undertake all forms of undercover operations.

Undercover operations and surveillance are both employed in a variety of ways and require special skills and qualifications. There are several required skills that the surveillant must be trained in prior to going undercover: Observation and Description, Selection and Utilization of Informants, Techniques of Undercover and Surveillance Activities, Foot and Vehicular Surveillance Techniques, Airborne and Marine Surveillance, Visual Surveillance, Computer Surveillance, Electronic Surveillance, Technical Equipment, and Surveillance Log.

Prime Defence International can provide extensive surveillance services to organisations and individuals in order to gain evidence during an investigation. Prime's operatives have many years of experience in covertly following surveillance subjects to obtain information on their movements, activities and contacts. This includes both mobile surveillance in vehicles and static surveillance in a fixed position.

So what is Surveillance?
Surveillance is the continuous watching or listening (overtly or covertly) of persons, vehicles, places or objects to obtain information concerning the activities and identities of individuals.

Counter Surveillance is the practice of avoiding surveillance or making surveillance difficult
Loss of a minute is loss of continuity, it might mean nothing, and it might mean the job is lost.
Surveillance-conscious individuals will play with identities to confound you.
They know their game, more importantly – they know yours too.

Objectives:
Obtain evidence of crime or unauthorised activity
Obtain details of the target’s activities
Develop leads
Industrial Espionage
Confirm the reliability of other information
Obtain information for a future interview
To locate people
Get information for search warrants
Obtain evidence for court
To identify people
Planning of hostile acts

Surveillance may last for days or weeks depending upon the length of time it takes the surveillant to obtain the information that they require. The surveillance of a person who has set routines and who takes few precautions will take less time.

The people undertaking the surveillance will often not take part in the attack nor will the attack take place while surveillance is still in progress.

Before starting surveillants gather all information that is available about the subject from other sources. Public records or information made available from a sympathetic individual may reveal useful facts about an individual such as the names of family members, an address, a description of vehicles and license numbers, etc.

Linked with Prime's protective surveillance teams we can not only protect the individual against information gathering but also gather our own intelligence for any possible criminal cases.
